Rashna Imam moved a writ petition in the High Court Division Challenging the constitutionality
of sections 2(ga), 3 and 6 of the Organ Donation and Transplantation Act 1999 which contains an
unreasonably restrictive definition of donor and the failure of the state to effectively regulate
this area. The Hon’ble Court was pleased to issue rule, asking the state to show cause within two
weeks.
